This document describes how we process personal data of visitors of the EGTwins website (the “Website”). You provide personal data knowingly and voluntarily (for example when you contact us by e-mail).

A Contacting us by e-mail
If you contact us by e-mail, we may process in particular:
Purpose: handling your request and communicating with you.
Legal basis: the Controller’s legitimate interest (communication with users/interested parties) and/or taking steps prior to entering into a contract (if your request relates to cooperation).
Retention period: for as long as necessary to handle the request, typically no longer than 24 months from the last communication,
unless longer storage is necessary (e.g., for the protection of legal claims).
B Security and technical logs
When you visit the Website, technical data may be processed (e.g., server logs), which may include:
Purpose: Website security, abuse prevention, error diagnostics, protection against attacks, and ensuring functionality.
Legal basis: the Controller’s legitimate interest (security and stability of the Website).
Retention period: typically days to months depending on hosting/logging settings; we keep the data only for as long as necessary.
C Traffic measurement (analytics) – only if active on the Website
If an analytics tool is active on the Website (e.g., Google Analytics), data about Website usage may be processed (e.g., visited pages, approximate location, device type, traffic sources, etc.). Such tools typically use cookies/identifiers.
Purpose: traffic statistics and improving the Website.
Legal basis: consent (if analytics uses cookies/identifiers requiring consent) or legitimate interest (only if measurement is configured without cookies and in a mode that does not require consent—this must match the actual setup).
Retention period: according to the settings of the specific service and cookies (see the Cookies page).
D Social networks and embedded content (embeds, buttons)
If the Website includes third-party elements (e.g., “Share” buttons, “Like” buttons, embedded social media content), a third party may obtain data about your Website visit (e.g., IP address, cookies, device information), sometimes even without active interaction—depending on the integration.
We recommend logging out of your social network accounts if you do not want your visit to be linked to your profile.
Personal data is processed primarily by the Controller. Other parties may have access where necessary for Website operation:
