We’ve been asked several times what other game projects we have made, and whether the tower-defense
Baptism of Fire was our first game.
The answer is simple: it was not our first project. Even earlier, Milan and I created dozens of games—2D and 3D,
mixes of shooters and horror experiments. Most of them were learning projects, so we never considered publishing them.
The first game we actually released to the public was in 2018, also called “Baptism of Fire”.
Yes, the name is the same as the 2020 release—but this one was a third-person shooter where the player had to defend a base.
It was also browser-based and free. There were several support options available, such as a squad of shooters,
an armored vehicle, or a helicopter strike.
Shortly after launch, we took the game offline on our own initiative because (in our opinion) it was poorly optimized
and stuttered too much. The third-person shooter version was then reworked and replaced by the newer “Baptism of Fire”
that some of you may already know.
For a long time we debated whether to share screenshots from this discontinued version… but in the end we decided to post them here.
The images come directly from the game engine (so the UI looks… well, as it does 🙂).
